I like to go the thrift store near me, I have found many things I could do things with one with the help of a friends sewing machine turned a dress into a skirt.
There isn't much to do, unless there is a zipper. There was one in this dress and it went below where I would want to cut it off, so the zipper got rolled underneath itself and sewn.
